Negatives, camera

Kentaro Mori, January 13, 2004

Here I'm basically only reproducing the work already done by Manuel Borraz

Barauna claimed to have used a Rolleiflex 2.8E. The camera must have had an objective with a focal distance of 80mm. The film format must have been 120. The width of this film was 6 cm, and though there are versions of 6 by 4.5, 7 and 9 cm, the other dimension must have been of also 6 cm, a square film, 6x6.

In this case, the angle of the scene captured may be calculated:

L (negative) = 60 mm
f (focal distance) = 80 mm

tg (A/2) = (L/2)/f

A = 41.1º

Unfortunately, as all prints we had access to are cropped, and we cannot be sure just how much, even knowing this cannot lead to much certain measurements (see Comparison between two first print scans from two sources).
